This house with the same tree, villagers told me when I showed them a copy of the old photo, is made in Nomenj, Slovenia in February 2018. Though the village is not so big, it took me a while to find the spot. In 1926 it was photographed by German photographer Kurt Hielscher 1926. This photo is from his photobook "Jugoslavien", page 7. Here's my original post from the two photos on Facebook, with an more extensive description and explanation why they aren't exactly the same. I can add to that that there were two children waiting in the car and they thought it was dinner time: https://www.facebook.com/Yugoslavia1926PresentInthefootstepsofKurtHielscher/posts/427372807701196
Lovely shot and I don't mind the slightly different alignment at all. Do you take trips specifically for photography?
Not really, I was with my wife and kids to make a combi of Venice in Italy and some snow fun and skiing in Slovenia, but yes, I took my chances to make some photos as well. :-)
