View from the Sinwell Tower of the Kaiserburg in Nuremberg during World War II. The photo shows the condition of the Sebald Old Town after the heavy Allied air raid on January 2, 1945. The roofs of City Hall and St. Sebald’s Church have collapsed. The spires were still standing at this point; they did not collapse until later, during the Battle of Nuremberg in April 1945.
