View of the Dansker at the Teutonic Order Castle in Toruń at the beginning of the 20th century. A Dansker served as a restroom facility and possibly as a refuge during sieges.
The castle was built in the mid-13th century, as part of the founding of Thorn. In 1454, it was destroyed following a siege by the Prussian Confederation; only the Dansker survived. In the 1960s, the ruins were excavated, cleared, and restored, and are now open to visitors.

Compared to the old photograph, the battlements have been rebuilt, and some adjacent buildings have been removed.
