The Bridge Gate (Polish: Brama Mostowa) is one of the three surviving gates of the medieval city fortifications of Toruń. It was built in 1432 by Hans Gotland and led to Toruń’s first permanent bridge over the Vistula River, constructed in 1500, from which the gate later derived its name.
Despite minor reconstructions, the gate has essentially retained its original late-Gothic form. Among the notable changes is the cornice frieze below the battlements, which was smoothly plastered or whitewashed during this period.
