The Sacré-Coeur Basilica during its construction and today, seen from the street "Rue du Chevalier-de-la-Barre." The mighty religious building of Montmartre was started in 1875 and definitively completed in 1923.
On the right you can see ancient stalls where rosaries and other religious items were sold. Today more mundane tourist shops, pubs and takeaways can be found in the streets often overcrowded by tourists.
