The Pont Alexandre III in 1900, shortly after its completion (seen from the Pont des Invalides). The magnificent bridge was built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition and commemorates the French alliance with the Russian tsar.

At the left, in the distance, the towers of the monumental "Porte Binet" can be seen, the gateway on the Place de la Concorde to the Universal Exhibition (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weltausstellung_Paris_1900#/media/File:Entr%C3% A9e_Concorde.jpg). There is now standing a Ferris wheel during winter. In the right, the facade of the Palace on the Esplanade des Invalides is seen, which was also built for the Universal Exhibition (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exposition_universelle_de_1900#/media/File:Paris_Exposition_Pont_Alexandre_III,_Paris,_France,_1900._View_from_the_Ponte_Alexandre_III_bridge.jpg).

The Pont Alexandre III, besides the Eiffel Tower and the Grand/Petit Palais, belongs to the comparably few buildings that has left the Universal Exhibition.
