William T. Colburn opened his shoe store on October 8, 1832. This business has been in only two families in its 188 year history. It is "The Oldest Shoe Store in America." The three men pictured are, l to r, Phil Horne, Ben Smalley, Jim Braley. In the more recent photo Brian Horne poses in front of the store in the 1990s.
