Das ehemalige Hauptpostamt ist eines der größten und beeindruckendsten Gründerzeitgebäude der Stadt Halle. Der neoromanische Baublock, erbaut 1892 bis 1898, reicht vom Joliot-Curie-Platz mehr als 100 Meter weit gen Süden und wurde als Dreiflügelanlage an der damaligen Promenade konzipiert.

The former main post office is one of the largest and most impressive Wilhelminian style buildings in the city of Halle. The neo-Romanesque building block, built between 1892 and 1898, extends from Joliot-Curie-Platz more than 100 meters to the south and was designed as a three-wing complex on the promenade at that time.
