La palazzina delle Croce Rossa Italiana di Como nacque nel 1937 come rifugio e ricovero collettivo, cioè destinato ad ospitare il personale sanitario della Croce Rossa ed un rifugio antiaereo nei suoi sotterranei, con una squadra di Pronto Intervento in caso di attacco.
