Apart from the two houses in the middle of the picture below, there is not much left of the old Marienplatz ...

Was mich irritiert: das neue Rathaus wurde 1867 begonnen zu bauen. Warum sieht man in der alten Aufnahme überhaupt nichts davon?
Demnach müsste das Bild vor 1867 „geschossen“ worden sein.

What confuses me is that construction of the new town hall began in 1867. Why can't you see anything of it in the old photo?
The photo must have been taken before 1867.
